IRRC Summer Rowing Clubs Wrapping up this Week

The IRRC is wrapping up its 2016 Summer Rowing camps this week with an impressive number of participants including 60 students from six different middle and high schools from around the Treasure Coast area. While attending the camps, participants learned a variety of rowing skills depending on their level of experience ranging from the basics of the rowing stroke to advanced sculling techniques.  Fitness was also a part of the daily agenda with participants spending a good amount of time familiarizing themselves with the ergs (stationary rowing machines) as well as running laps.  But the highlight of the camp was getting out on the water, taking in the gorgeous Indian River Lagoon scenery and learning about the discipline and teamwork required to excel in the sport.

The IRRC Camp was led by Coach Marra, as well as camp counselors who are members of the Vero Beach High School Crew Team (@VBHSCrew) and volunteered their time to ensure the camps’ success.  Congratulations to Coach Marra, the camp counselors and the students for all the hard work this summer!
